ExamYard exists because the alternative for a Cambridge science student is a folder of scattered PDFs that tells you nothing about which parts of the syllabus you are weak at. A printed book can at least be honest about what is examinable, say it in the order Cambridge asks it, and sit open on the desk while you work.

How a chapter is built

The syllabus first, then everything else.

Every chapter starts from the specification document, not from a textbook chapter that happens to be nearby. Four sources, in a fixed order of authority.

Learning outcomes transcribed in Cambridge’s own wording. If the syllabus says describe, the chapter does not quietly turn it into state.

Second

Past papers

What has actually been asked, and how often — which decides how much space a section gets.

Third

Examiner reports

What candidates got wrong, in the examiners’ words. This is where the right-way / wrong-way pairs come from.

Fourth

Mark schemes

Exactly which words earn the mark, so the worked examples model an answer that would actually score.

Principles

Four things we will not trade away.

Students mark their own work — against the real mark scheme, as they will in the exam. Learning where the marks fall is the point of the exercise, not an obstacle to it.

Nothing unreviewed — a question that misstates a formula teaches the error, and the student carries it into the exam.

One syllabus, done properly — we would rather cover one subject completely than a dozen thinly.

Printed, not streamed — a book you can write in, annotate and open beside the past paper, on a desk with no battery and no signal.

We would rather tell you this plainly than let a shop page imply more than exists.
